Listen, released in 1991, is a fresh cologne for men. Citrusy bergamot, lemon, and mandarin orange are the juicy top notes. The middle notes are a complex and harmonious blend of geranium, jasmine, rose, cyclamen, carrot, and basil. The strong base features tonka bean, musk, amber, and cedar. 

Jazz musician Herb Alpert began his fragrance company, the H. Alpert Company, in the 1980s. The scents are an aromatic expression of music. The outer packaging of this cologne features an impressionist painting of the night sky, using deep purples hues. The glass bottle is a saturated blue with a metallic topper, shaped to resemble a trumpet.
